John 8:1-11

Well, most people know that this story in the Bible is one of my most favortie stories because there is just so much power in it! It's John 8:1-11. Basically here's what happened, A woman is caught in the act (yes, in the act eek!) of adultery. She was broken and lost and the mean teachers of the law decided to figure out her justice. So they took to the One and Only Jesus, and asked, "Teacher this woman was caught in the act of adultery. In the Law of Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?" See what the teachers of the law could never understand was that Jesus did not come to condemn the world He came to save it. So they thought they could trap Him into saying something that the Son of God would not say. But Jesus did the unexpected (He always was :) and bent down and wrote something in the sand(verse 6). Then they continued questioning Him and finally He said, "He who is WITHOUT sin can throw the first stone." Yup, Jesus went there! And so one by the one the teachers began to leave. Now understand, Jesus could've thrown a stone at her because He was and is without sin. But He didn't, why? Because He loves us! But the last verse says this, (10&11) "Jesus straightened up and asked her, 'Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?' No one, sir. 'Then neither do i condem you.' Jesus declared. 'Go now and turn from your life of sin." Wow!!!!! Jesus didn't condemn her, He could've listed all the things she'd done wrong and told her she was a sinner and would go to Hell, but Jesus LOVED her. And if all of us (myself included) would just love those around us and stop trying to point out faults we would all be better off. Jesus loves us all so much! God doesn't look at our lives, our clothes, or our outward appearance!!! And if you don't believe then let me tell you what God's Love Letter to us says, "The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart." ~1 Samuel 16:7~ He looks at the HEART! When you give God your life then you begin to give Him more of your heart and once you give Him your heart He begins to shape it and mold it into His heart. Remember God is not condemning you, He's loving you and trying to get you to turn from your old ways. So turn today in repentance and let God's love wrap you up like none other!!!!!
