Where Is Your Heart?

Matthew 15:8-9 says, "These people draw near to Me with their mouth, And honor me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men."

I want to start this post off with asking you, where is your heart? This week has been filled with some soul-searching, prayer, listening, weeping, and much more. And so when I was having my Jesus-time yesterday I ran across that verse. It got me to thinking, is that what our generation is doing? Looking like they are a Christian, but their heart is not in it. God tells us that He will not reward half-hearted faith. He wants all of us or none of us. Really thinking about that has brought me to my knees and definitely showed me that there are areas in my life that need to be checked out and find out if my whole heart is in God- when I worship Him, spend time with Him and live for Him.

It is so easy to look like your doing the "right" things but not really living that way. And even though we can fool people and put a mask on it, we CANNOT fool God. Let me say that again, WE (you and me) CANNOT FOOL THE LORD!!!!!!! We may think we can but God knows all and sees all and He knows when our hearts are not in the right, and when we are just "doing" something to do it. But the AWESOME thing is this, God will help us out with all our struggles and He will listen when you tell Him that you know your heart isn't right and He will fix up your heart and make it more like His, but it won't be easy and there will be things that will need to be sacrificed. But it will be so worth it. So while I am seeking to rid my heart of all things that take my focus off of God or give me false faith, I ask you if you will join me in seeking to have the REAL DEAL Faith in Jesus Christ that is not mere words, but a lifestyle? I hope you will because our examples can and will change the world!

I love you all! God bless~!!!

Remember Today..

Today please remember the brave, amazing men and women who serve our Country every day and fight for our freedom so that we can do such things as worship, pray, and read His Word. I have talked with a few soldiers and they are so fearless and just incredible, but they still struggle with being over in Iraq and seeing the things they see. Pray for them as I will, that they will be filled with a heart of courage and that they will know Him. And to all you soldiers out there thank you SOOOOOOO much for all that you do for all of us. You are amazing! I love yall and have a blessed day!

"DO Them, Then Teach Them."

"...but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven." Matthew 5:19

The verse above came from Jesus speaking about the commandments of God, doing His will. This verse isn't used very much but we can learn a lot from it. Notice something about the verse, Jesus said whoever DOES and teaches them, shall be great in the Kingdom of Heaven. He spoke 'does' first, not 'teach'. And it really got me thinking about my life and the lives of others around me. Don't we always teach God's will to others first and then maybe DO them here and there? I know I have. But nobody likes a hypocrite and your example is a lot stronger than your words.

But Jesus said whoever does them, and then teaches them will be great in God's Kingdom. It is so easy to tell people to do something but it is alot harder to physically do them ourselves. So I am challenging myself to checking out my life to see if I am doing God's will and not just teaching them to the people around me. And I challenge you to do the same. I know we will all be rewarded greatly for living out God's commandments and standards. We can be such an example that can change the world. But only if we unite together, regardless of denomination, and stand for Christ. I love y'all and hope you have a greatly blessed weekend!!!

Keep Going

Well God has been teaching me a lot through personal experiences lately. One of the main things He has been teaching me is to keep going, to continue to persevere, and to not lose faith because when we lose faith we lose heart.

God has shown me that continuing to live for Him even when it's hard will really pay off whether on this Earth or in Heaven or both. He has been showing me that working hard and loving Him and others will bless our lives so much.

I want to encourage that no matter what you may be going through just keep going, keep living for Him and keep loving Him and others. That is the Lord's will for all of us, to love Him with all our being and to love others to the best of our ability. You can do His will incredibly if you put your whole heart into it as I know we all can. This was just to encourage you as I felt I needed to. I love you all!! God Bless~

Do Not Quit!!!!

Well, it seems I constantly need to reminded not to quit. I don't know if that is a good or bad thing but I am so thankful that God brings people into our lives who will encourage us through it all.

Recently life has just been nuts! Things seem to be going crazy and being calm through that is not easy. But I have been slacking off a bit in everything and finally God brought to me different things like devotionals and quotes that have been reminding me to not quit and in turn I want to encourage you and remind you to not quit!!

Believe me, I know all about hard situations but I also know all about God's faithfulness! DO NOT QUIT! Keep pushing forward in your relationship with God because there is a prize at the end of this race but you can only get it at the finish line and the only way you get to finish line is to not quit!! I know you get tired (physically and mentally) and I know life gets rough and hard and you just sometimes don't know what to do, but we serve an extremely FAITHFUL God who will be with you through it all.

Doubts will fill your mind a lot when life seems to throw punches at you (or at least doubt fills my mind) but what is the number one thing satan doesn't want you to do when life is tough? He does not want you to run to the Father where He can love on us and speak His truth into our lives. And satan is successful a lot of times in not getting us to go to the Lord but you gotta keep pushing forward and showing God that no matter what goes on in your life you are gonna praise His name with everything inside of you! We can all help each other get to the finish line if we will just encourage one another. After all that is what Jesus wanted while He was on earth was Unity between everyone in Christ Jesus.

So here I am encouraging you- my tough, loving sister or brother in the Lord to keep running this race and pushing yourself to the finish line because only there will you get the greatest reward of your life!!

DO NOT QUIT!

We can do this together. I love you all!! God Bless

WAKE UP!!!!!

As we all know life is a battle. It's a battle to the end where we will see Jesus face - to - face and hear Him say, "Well done my good and faithful servant." But so many times I see myself and others sleeping. Something that Jesus constantly reminded us of through the Bible is to be alert and awake. It is so important that Jesus even reminded us of that before He was taken to be crucified, "Then He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, 'What! Could you not watch with Me for one hour? Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.'" Matthew 26:40-41 Wow, it must be extremely important for us to remain awake in Him since Jesus even spoke about it before He was crucified.

However we as Christians seem to be asleep right now while the rest of the world is looking for answers and searching for hope. Jesus wants us as Christians to be radical for His name and show the world what they have to hope for. We have so much to give to this world to show them that Jesus Christ is real and alive!

I have been awakened by the Lord recently. He spoke to me and woke me up in my heart and mind. Now I am on a mission to wake up all my brothers and sisters around me. Whether you have become a sister or brother in the Lord yet or not I choose to wake all of you up however I need a leader like you (yes, you reading this) to help me achieve this. We have got to realize that we don't know when Jesus is coming back so we have GOT to be firmly awake in our lives so that He doesn't come back and find us sleeping. I have been asleep for far too long and now that I am awake it is time for a revolution.

Romans 6:16 says, "Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one's slaves whom you obey, whether sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness." Basically that verse is saying you can a slave to God and further His Kingdom or you can be a slave to satan and further his. In order for you to wake up the people around you, you have to determine which side of the fence you are on. Are you a slave to God or to satan? It's as simple as that. I hope and pray you are on God's because He is the fulfilling and satisfying God.

It's time to shake the earth for Jesus Christ. It's time to wake up and live for Him with our whole being. I invite you to join me in waking up the nation with God's love and power! If we are looking for a change in the world and the economy we need look no further than Jesus Christ because He is the One who will change the world for us!! He is Awesome and can do anything so do not forget that! I love yall! Be bold, not shy, and lift your head high in confidence in Christ!!!

Focus Blurred

Isn't it so easy to have your focus blurred to where you get your eyes off of the prize? Satan just loves doing that to us. Recently he succeeded in doing that to me.

Doesn't it just annoy you when you seem to be doing so well in your walk with Jesus and really seem to be honoring Him and then satan comes and messes it all up. He does things that distract us and keep our eyes off the prize which ultimately is eternity with Jesus Christ. My eyes seemed to have been on Jesus and then little things starting happening and then the next thing I know my eyes are on the things in the world rather than the things in Heaven.

But God is so Awesome and forgiving and merciful. When I felt like I had failed God too much because I allowed satan to distract and blur my focus on Him, God willingly forgave me and now is helping me not become easily distracted. Which is a process but it is a great reminder to myself and all of you that there is no power satan can have over us and there nothing and I mean NOTHING that God cannot forgive. If you get back up and start fighting this battle again you will be so blessed. What would really be failing God is having a sin in your life that drags you down and instead of getting up and accepting the forgiveness Jesus gave us on the Cross, you choose to stay down.

Even when your focus gets blurred for a bit once you realize it, allow God to open your eyes and help you get your focus back on Him. Probably one of my most reoccurring problems is letting the Lord take the reigns to my heart. However He is an Understanding God who loves all of us. So don't forget that. I love you all!!

Step Out and Be A Leader

"He has showed you, oh man, what is good. And what does the Lord ask of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with our God." Micah 6:8

What does it take to be a leader? Well Micah 6:8 pretty much lays it all out there for us. To be an effective leader for Christ we must..
  • Act justly,
  • Love mercy,
  • And walk humbly with the Lord

Not as complicated as we think. And considering all the sin we commit God doesn't ask much of us at all. But when it comes to being a leader we fail a lot of times. Good thing we serve a God of mercy and forgiveness however if we sin knowingly that's not right at all.

I really want to be a leader and bring others to Christ but my downfall comes from not wanting to step out of my comfort zone and give of myself. To save souls you do have to give of yourself and that isn't going to be easy which leads me to ask myself and you if you are willing to do the hard thing that in the long run will have been easy? I choose right now to be a 'step out of my comfort zone' leader. I hope that you will join me.

In my time with the Lord today He pointed me to a verse that I'd forgotten until now. Luke 10:2 says, "The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few..." and I believe that to be true. So many times we want to do great things for God's Kingdom and He provides absolutely everything we need to achieve that yet when the time comes to give of ourselves and to step out of our comfort zone we just don't want to do it. Sometimes it's because it is uncomfortable and other times it's because we think we can't speak well or people will think we're weird but if we truly believe in our faithful Savior and that He IS faithful and will provide for our every need then we can confidently walk in Him and share who He is everywhere we go. As the saying goes, "You don't have to go anywhere to witness if you witness everywhere you go." You can be that "few" out in the world who actually labors to save souls. We can start a revolution around the world!!

So as the week goes on I challenge myself to step out of my comfort zone and be an impactful leader and I ask you my dear brother or sister in Christ, to join me. This is a hurting world looking for a healer in every place and we can introduce them to THE Healer who can help their hurt deep inside of them. So will you join me in this fight? I hope you will.

love to you all!! blessings as well!

Don't Forget All Those Momma's Out There

Happy Mothers Day to all you mom's out there and to my own!

I don't know what I'd do if God hadn't given me the amazing mom He has and if she wasn't as strong as she is. Yeah, sometimes mom's can be a tad protective but that's because they love us so much. Don't forget to appreciate them 'cause they deserve it!!

Thanks to all you amazing mom's out there!! love you all!!

What's Your Legacy?

We all have the chance to leave a legacy behind. That's really not a surprise, however what your legacy leaves can be.

God has been challenging me so much lately and many of those challenges I have failed and some I have not. But He has been teaching me about how none of us are guaranteed another day of life. I'm not, your not, the person next door's not, so who we affect around us is huge. What I do here on earth does matter because it affects people and eternity. My legacy right now could be a good one, but I believe that we can all leave GREAT legacies that point others to Jesus even then.

The life we live will affect many people around us. Some we may know and some we may not know, but it will affect people. What makes a difference is if we are impacting lives for Christ or for the devil. Because whether you know it or not you choosing to believe or not believe in Christ determines whether you are saving souls or killing them.

Before I lived a life that pointed people to the devil where they couldn't find fulfilling life, but now I choose to live a life that points others to the Life Giver where He is all that satisfies. Something Matt Pitt once said was this, "My mom asked me one day (during the time he was doing drugs), 'Matt, are people gonna know more about Jesus from your mouth or your funeral?'" That one sentence is crazy amazing because it really makes you think. I mean, what if you were to die in an hour, how many people would know about Jesus from your mouth and how many people will know about Jesus from your funeral?

God is calling me and you out to leave legacy's behind that challenge people to seek Him. But your answer will determine where the rest of that flows. You can answer "yes" and step out and begin living your legacy right now or you can answer "no" and continue living your same life. I hope you answer yes, as I do and begin this journey with me. Lives will be impacted by whichever answer you choose. One for the better and the other for the worse. Let me ask you, what's your legacy? You and God hold the answer.

love you all and have a blessed, fun weekend!!!

One Encounter is All it Takes

It's amazing what a giant God we serve. All it takes is one encounter with Him and lives are changed. Mine included.

Actually I had an encounter with Him today when I spent some time with Him and it just blew me away. Just taking the time to worship Him with a few songs, read His Word and talk with Him (and listen) is amazing!!

I want to give you a reminder that when you pray something happens and when you invite people to Church with you something happens. God always answers prayers and He always does what He says He will. Someone who doesn't know the Father can have one true encounter with Him and it will change their life forever!!! And for the better might I add. :)

I'm just telling the world right now that there is...

ONE GOD

ONE FAITH

AND..

ONE JESUS!!!!!!!!!!

love yall!! have a blessed weekend!

The "Stalker"

"For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God." Colossians 3:3

Okay this verse has been following me around EVERYWHERE!! lol

Actually God was trying to teach me something however I ignored Him until yesterday.

Finally I sat down with the Lord and asked Him what He was trying to teach me that I am being so stubborn to listen and then it hit me like a ton of bricks, my life is in Him and only in Him. Recently it seems that I have been looking for my life in things that were not Him. One thing I have been reminded of is that my life should look like Christ is living through me and I have really been trying to keep my heart focused on that so that it really isn't I who is living but Christ in me.

However it is all easier said than done. Letting Christ be our life and us letting go of our desires and wants is extremely hard especially since we just don't know if we will ever get to that one thing we really desire to do which is where faith and trust come in. God has our whole life planned out and even though we cannot see Him He will take care of us and if we delight our self in the Lord HE will give us the desires of our heart. Which is I need that reminder every single day.

So this is a reminder to myself and to you that we all can find our true lives in Jesus Christ. All those incredible dreams and plans He has will come forth when the time is right. Now all we have to do is be patient.......

UNASHAMED

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ.." Romans 1:16

Are you ashamed of Christ? God calls us out to be leaders and to make an impact and guess what?! You have the opportunity to do that today!! Today is the National Day of Prayer and I am soooooooo excited about it because I can feel that God is gonna move so amazingly. But in order for Him to move through you have to step out of your ways and into His.

He has placed it on my heart to write about being unashamed. I feel like you right now reading this are called to be leader but maybe you don't know if you can be, don't forget the words of Philippians 4:13 which says, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." How often we forget that. I myself do everyday. God will bring an opportunity right to me and I miss it simply because I get "cold feet" on telling someone about Jesus but what He is telling us in His Word is that when we get nervous He is there and will help us every step of the way. There is no need to be ashamed of Him.

God revealed these 2 verses to me the other day, "Not everyone who says to me 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter my Kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in Heaven." and "And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me you who practice lawlessness." Matthew 7:21&23

What Jesus is telling us is that we can spend time with Him all we want and He loves that, but if that's all we do then we aren't doing His will therefore He doesn't truly know us. If we don't share our Jesus with the world who will? It only takes one person to make a difference. Matthew 22:14 says that "many are called but few are chosen." You are God's chosen! Act, talk, and walk like you are. People will see the difference in you. You are unashamed of our Savior Jesus Christ!!

I just really want to remind that today you have a chance to make a difference and share Jesus with someone. With it being the National Day of Prayer simply praying can change the world, but another great idea is to offer to pray for someone you don't know or someone who doesn't know Jesus and I'm sure that will change that person's life! Have a wonderful day!! love yall!

Made To Be Uncommon

I heard this song by Greg Long a couple of weeks ago and it touched my heart so deeply and has helped me focus on my life right now and how it looks. The song speaks of being uncommon for Jesus Christ and looking different isn't a bad thing. Looking at my life I can see some things that need to get out of it, but I also see the potential that God has for my life to be uncommon. AND yours TOO!!

God has so much planned for you (yes, YOU reading this right now, God has a plan for YOU!!!) and He just wants you to surrender to Him so He can reveal those plans to you. I have recently learned that life is a lot more blessed and honoring to God if you will surrender to Him instead of kicking back and forth. I've wrestled with some things and now I know that surrender is the only possibility. God has never not once provided for my every need and I know that He won't stop. If something bad is happening in your life just remember that God is WITH you.

To be uncommon we need to be set apart and to be set apart we need to be willing to look and be different. Why is it that in this world if you look different your persecuted? I don't know, but I do know that suffering for the cause of Christ is the biggest honor I could EVER have!! I want to challenge you to be different on the inside and on the outside. Don't look, talk, or act like the rest of the world. Be who God created YOU to be. The lyrics to Uncommon are below, I think it would be a good idea to read them or listen to song on a website. blessings and love to all of you~! And remember God made you to be uncommon, because you are special!!

Uncommon by Greg Long
What if there's something bigger for me out there
Than the comfort of a life on this middle ground
I've played it safe but now I can't help but wonder
If maybe I've been missing out
'Cause I look around and see a sea of people
Everybody's moving in the same direction
And I think it's time for me to break away, break away

Chorus:
I want to finally take the road less traveled
I want to run away from anything typical
I want the world to see the life I'm living
And call it uncommon

What if the right thing was harder than the wrong thing
But I did it anyway
Standing strong even when no one else was watching
What if I really lived that way
Every heart has its defining moment
This is mine and I'm not gonna miss it

Chorus:
I want to finally take the road less traveled
I want to run away from anything typical
I want the world to see the life I'm living
And call it uncommon

I don't care if it makes me look different
I'm never letting go of my conviction
Let the world see the life I'm living
And call it uncommon

I'm done with the easy way out I'm done with the easy way out
Done with the easy way out With the easy way out

What if I made it to the end of my days here
Only to find that my legacy was nowhere to be found
I don't want to waste another second
Give me the strength to start right now
Right now, right now, right now, right now, right now, right now
I take the road less traveled
I want to run away from anything typical
I want the world to see the life I'm living
And call it uncommon
I don't care if it makes me look different
I'm never letting go of my conviction
Let the world see the life I'm living
And call it uncommon
Uncommon
Call it uncommon
I'm done with the easy way out

Ungrateful

Have you ever taken a glance at your life to see how thankful you are for the things you have? For the everyday things that God has blessed you with? Maybe not, but today I was thinking about it and the word that came to mind was... UNGRATEFUL.

God has blessed me with so much and I overlook that everyday. What are some things all of us can thank God for no matter what we're going through? Here's a start....
*Food

*Home

*Clothes

*Family

*His Word

*Love

*Friends

*Life

*Health

So much is taken forgranted each day like our legs and arms. I don't think to be thankful for them until I think of the people out there who don't have any or theirs don't work and yet I get angry because they look funny or whatever. Or I take forgranted the fact that I have a family and while they can get annoying.. really annoying ;), they are the best and some people out there don't have a family to love them and for them to love back. Or that we have food to eat but there are millions of people who have none

This isn't to make anybody sad or whatnot it's just to say that God has blessed us and gifted us with so much!!! Don't take it forgranted! I have now seen and fall to my knees to thank my Savior. love you all!!!!

OH, I Love My Jesus..

Yes, I do. I just LOVE HIM SO MUCH!!!! It does not matter what kind of day I'm having, whether it was bad day or a tiring day, or just a boring day He loves me so unconditionally and is always there to listen. I just am so blessed.

I mean believe me, I do a lot of stuff that I just sit and scratch my head at as to why I did whatever it was. ha ha But my Man Jesus smiles down on me and lets me know that He loves me no matter what. You know what's really great? Just sitting down with Him and really, really talk. I always tell people that Jesus is the ONLY Man who will actually listen and talk back. hahaha But seriously, it's true. I try to make my prayer time with Him intimate but sometimes I just need to let out some of my ramblings. And He sits there with me and listens like none other. Oh I lllllllllllloooooooooooooovvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeee Him!!!!!! I am head over heels in love with Him!!!!!! Anyways, this post was kind of pointless just needed to get that off my chest! ;o)

There IS Something Ahead

We as people spend a lot of time focusing on the future. We look ahead at what job we want, what age we want to get married, what college to go, what kind of house we want, etc. And while looking forward to the future is great and not to be condemned, sometimes we just really need to focus on the now.

If we really focused on right now I think our lives would be way different. We need to remember that we are not guaranteed another day which is why we need to make today count. When we look ahead we need to see that there is a Heaven and that we want to be up there with our Prince to spend eternity with Him. I mean after all, don't you want to meet the One who loves you forever? I know I do!

Right now counts. I need to get my heart, my mind and my life straightened up a bit. Isn't it crazy how sometimes sin just creeps up? And before you know it, it begins taking over your life. Good news is that we have Someone who can rid us of it all. We shouldn't be embarrassed of ourselves when there is sin in our life. So many times we live in this little bubble land where everything is perfect and no one knows the things you struggle with or the things you need help with. All is well. But that is just not real. Sometimes we DO struggle and sometimes we DO need help and that is nothing to be ashamed of. God already knows the sin in my life and if there was ever any One who I wouldn't want to know it would be Him. So since He already knows the sin in my life then I don't care if the people around me do. Remember, none of us are perfect at all, Jesus is the ONLY ONE who IS!!

Just don't forget that while this life will bring many difficult trials there IS something INCREDIBLE ahead and there is also Someone INCREDIBLE waiting for you. He loves you so much! Don't be ashamed of Jesus or yourself. Let Him shine through you!! love you guys~!!

Stand on The Word

I have find every time when I read God's Word there is some new truth or promise that I can cling to. So why is it when I am faced with trials or hardships I forget it? As I said in a recent post the enemy has been attacking me and many of my brothers and sisters. But guess what, the good news is (literally and figuratively) that God's Word is TRUTH and we can stand on it!!

Throughout God's whole Word He shows us lives that went through many, many things that were both good and bad. Paul to me is the perfect example because he was a man who went through so much and still praised God and that really challenges me to do the same. It is definitely not easy to do that but if we really believe what we say we believe than we know that we know that we know, that God is faithful and doesn't put anything on us that is too hard to bare.

Recently God has been reminding me of all the stuff that He has brought me through. So there is no situation that will be any different from that. I know how tough life can be but guys, God is there! When there is darkness all around there is also Light! Stand strong and stand on His Word because it can withstand all things and so can you. God is there! i love you all!!! have a blessed weekend!
